僕の新作「The Empyrean(ザ・エンピリアン)」は、2009年1月14日にRUSH! PRODUCTION/AWDR/LR2からリリースされる。2006年12月から2008年3月の間にレコーディングされた作品なんだ。これはコンセプト・アルバムで、一つの物語を音楽と歌詞を通して表現している。この物語は、一人の人の内面で起きているんだけど、登場人物は二人いるんだ。このアルバムには、Tim Buckley(ティム・バックリィ)の”Song To The Siren”のカヴァー曲が入っているけど、その他の曲は全て僕が作曲した。友人のJosh(ジョシュ)とFlea(フリー)も参加している。あと、Sonus Quartet(ソナス・カルテット)、Johnny Marr(ジョニー・マー)、the New Dimension Singers(ザ・ニュー・ディメンション・シンガーズ)も参加してるよ。仕上がりにはすごく満足しているし、とてもサイケデリックなサウンドだから自分でも何度も聞き返してる。なるべく大音量で聴いて欲しいし、深夜の暗いリビングで聴くことをお勧めする。

Japanese only SHM-CD (Super High Material CD – playable on all CD players) pressing includes two bonus tracks: ‘Today’ and ‘Ah Yom’. 2009 album from the enigmatic guitarist, singer songwriter and producer, best known as guitarist for The Red Hot Chili Peppers. The Empyrean was recorded on and off between December 2006 and March 2008. It is a concept record that tells a single story both musically and lyrically. The story takes place within one person, and there are two characters. It contains a version of Tim Buckley’s ‘Song To The Siren’ and the rest of the songs are written by Frusciante. The album features musical assistance from RHCP bandmate Flea plus Sonus Quartet, Johnny Marr and The New Dimension Singers. 3D.

シンガーソングライター、ギタリスト。 94年『Niandra Lades and Usually Just a T-Shirt』、01年『To Record Only Water for Ten Days』、04年『Shadows Collide With People』、04年から05年にかけてインディペンデント・レーベルより6連作を発表。 09年『The Empyrean』、12年『Letur – Lefr』、『PBX Funicular Intaglio Zone』、13年『Outsides』。 14年にはラップデュオBLACK KNIGHTSとコラボレーションしたヒップホップ・アルバム『MEDIEVAL CHAMBER』を発表した。
